Birth Doula Training in Oshawa/Whitby – GTA (Greater Toronto Area)
Congratulations on your interest in becoming a birth doula! You will soon experience the amazing joy of the special impact you will have on women and families in your area.
Our Whitby session is held at the Quality Suites (1700 Champlain Ave) only 40 minutes east of Toronto. There is ample parking for those driving and the Go Train (Whitby station) is just 5 minutes away for those using public transit from Toronto. Please let us know if you’d like transit information and we’ll be happy to provide. Shuttle service is also available at the end of the session back to the Go Train, and rooms are available at a reduced price for those staying overnight.
Our next training is:
June 22, 23, 24, 2012 in Whitby, Ontario. The cost is $350 + HST. Book your spot with a $100 deposit. Balance due 30 days before start date.
- Day 1: 1:00pm to 5:30pm
- Day 2: 10:00am to 6:30pm
- Day 3: 10:00am to 6:30pm
You will be given all the necessary tools to begin your journey towards becoming a certified doula through DONA International.

Please print and fill out Registration – Birth Doula Workshop to register for training. Payments can be made by Visa, MC, cheque or Interac money transfer.
Cancellation policy: Full cancellation available within 24 hours. Refunds are available 30 days or more before workshop start date minus a $40 handling fee. No refunds will be made within 30 days of the workshop, however registrants may apply the fee towards a future workshop held by Discover Birth Inc. Cancellations within one week of class must pay a $50 administration fee to rebook and apply fee towards another workshop. NO EXCEPTIONS.
About Your Trainer:
Stefanie Antunes has been a Lamaze® Educator and doula since 2002, after the birth of her second son showed her just how valuable it is to be prepared for birth and to have good support around you.
Stefanie is a visionary in the childbirth field. She leads the Discover Birth organization providing a variety of services to expectant parents and training for those wishing to pursue work in the childbirth field. Stefanie is the former Public Relations Director for DONA International, founder of WiseParent, and sits on many local boards and coalitions to improve our communities. She is a DONA-approved Birth Doula Trainer, and Lamaze “Teaching Skills” Workshop facilitator with Douglas College.
Stefanie is a contributing author in the best selling Power of Women United and Bearing Witness: Childbirth Stories Told by Doulas. She is a regular contributing writer and blogger, and has done many interviews online and for TV/radio.
She believes that the world can be a better place if parents can have more positive childbirth experiences, allowing them to bond properly with their babies. She works tirelessly to change the world in this aspect…one family at a time.
