Fees: $1200 for the regular birth doula package

Stefanie is a DONA trained postpartum doula. She accepts a small number of clients each year to serve as they enter parenthood. Stefanie has extensive training in breastfeeding support, newborn care, and transition to parenthood (as well as integrating siblings).

About Stefanie

When Stefanie was pregnant with her first baby she wanted to get as much information as possible, so she read all the books she could get her hands on (like many first time moms). When her husband’s difficult work schedule prevented them from attending childbirth prenatal classes she wasn’t too worried because she had read so much on the topics of labour and delivery. The moment came and went and she realized it hadn’t been all she had hoped. When she was pregnant with her second she decided to ‘do it right’ and took Lamaze® classes. She was so amazed by the difference it made in her childbirth experience that she decided to become a Lamaze® educator and share these wonderful techniques with other expectant women and their partners! Since then, Stefanie’s passion for helping women through this momentous event has grown tremendously. She strongly believes that every woman should be prepared for this experience with the information and techniques that Lamaze® classes provide, and with the help and support of a doula.          

Stefanie Antunes is a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator, and certified doula with DONA, a postpartum doula, and a doula trainer. As owner of Discover Birth she helps expectant parents prepare for childbirth in a fun and positive way. She attends births with couples so they can fully experience the amazing potential of this transformative event. Stefanie, a mother of three, is an advocate in the childbirth movement, helping to decrease maternal and infant mortality rates across North America through awareness of safe practices and an evidence-based approach. Stefanie is the founder of Discover Birth and the former Director of Public Relations for DONA International. She is the Founder of the Hospital Birth Doula Program at The Scarborough Hospital and remains an advisor on the program. She is also a contributing author of the best selling book The Power of Women United (available for sale through the boutique) and newly released Bearing Witness: Birth Stories Told by Doulas.
